Neurotype 1A

What is Neurotyping?

Neurotyping is a method by which we examine our personality traits and use them to evaluate our neurotransmitter dominance. That information allows us to understand the best type of training, nutrition, and even mindset and lifestyle practices we can employ to maximize our results.

Simply put, Neurotyping is understanding how your brain chemistry impacts your training, nutrition, and lifestyle.

How Do I Train for Neurotype 1A

Neurotype Training will allow you to:

  • Train harder, stay focused and motivated
  • Recover more efficiently from training
  • Have less of a stress response from training by working with your natural brain chemistry
  • Progress optimally and maximize your results

Training according to your neurological makeup will allow you to reach your goals faster and smarter.

So What Kind of Workouts Do I Do as a Type 1A Neurotype?

Neurotype 1A’s can handle a lot of high intensity at almost every training session. They need high frequency in movements, but the overall volume needs to be carefully monitored. We want to protect their dopamine levels so long rest periods and straight sets are recommended. Think of a typical powerlifter with heavy weights and low reps. They build muscle by getting stronger.

How Do I Eat for Neurotype 1A?

Due to high levels of inhibitory neurotransmitters, 1A’s are resilient and can handle a good amount of stress. When setting up a diet, protocols can be fairly aggressive. But this needs to be handled carefully due to the competitive nature of a 1A, they can quickly burn the candle at both ends.

With a 1A, results need to be seen quickly in order for them to stay motivated and goal oriented. Typically, a 3 on 1 off protocol works well for this type.

The 3on 1 off model is maintaining a specific diet protocol for 3 weeks and then taking 1 week off of their specific diet protocol for a maintenance period.

Daily Protocol:

Neurotype 1As have high dopamine sensitivity, which we want to continue to support, so a typical daily diet protocol would look like

  • High levels of protein each day (50% of daily intake or above)
  • Lower daily carb intake (20% of daily intake)
  • Moderate fat intake (30% of daily intake)
