So I Am Neurotype 2B – What Does That Mean?

Type 2B’s are glutamate dominant due to their high levels of glutamate. They also don’t effectively produce the enzyme to convert glutamate to GABA so they also have low levels of GABA as a result. Since glutamate is the neurotransmitter responsible for emotional amplification, type 2B’s are naturally more emotional.

Neurotype 2B  Characteristics Include:

  • People pleasers
  • Tend to be introverted and a bit more anxious
  • They fall in love easily and enjoy grand gestures of affection
  • Thrive on variance, which mimics their training
  • Hate disappointing people
  • They don’t like to be a leader, but will sacrifice themselves for the good of the team
  • Their greatest motivation is being admired, liked, or respected

How Do I Train for Neurotype 2B

Neurotype Training will allow you to:

So What Kind of Workouts Do I Do as a Type 2B Neurotype?

Neurotype 2B’s are all about feeling. Type 2B’s want to feel their muscles working, feel the pump, and thrive on a good mind-muscle connection. Think of a typical bodybuilder.

They cannot handle a ton of neurological work but can handle very high volume and frequency when it comes to muscular work. A pool of sweat is an indicator of a good workout for this type of person

The most important consideration for a type 2B is avoiding CNS fatigue by further depleting GABA and serotonin. Since they already have low levels of GABA, they may rely more on serotonin to bring them down and if a session is too intense, they won’t be able to recover. That is why heavy CNS work doesn’t suit a type 2B very well.

How Do I Eat for Neurotype 2B?

Type 2B’s are all about feel and emotion. They tend to have a little higher anxiety, so we want to keep a balanced approach while prioritizing the peri workout window to ensure a solid pump during training.

Type 2B’s have high levels of glutamate and are deficient in the enzyme that makes the conversion of glutamate to GABA. The caution with type 2B’s is that they are prone to emotional eating. They can be very hard on themselves so working through the mindset of all or nothing is important.

 Macros and dietary protocols will be dictated by training day and non-training day for this individual.

Macro Protocol: 

 Carbs will be higher on training days to recover from the stress of their training, think in the 45%-50% range. However, on a non-training day you might see their carbs cut in half, around the 20%-25% range.
