Eat More to Get Leaner … Too Good to be True?

by | Jun 7, 2021

You already missed the best opportunity you’ll ever get to lose weight quickly

And that’s actually a good thing.

Let me explain.

Trying to get leaner?

If you’re trying to get leaner, more fit, toned, or pretty much want any body composition result …

The best opportunity for quick progress is your first ever attempt.

Your body is primed to respond.

You’ll see amazing results.

But guess what … that time has likely passed.

The average person tries to lose weight north of 200 times in their lifetime so I’m guessing this isn’t your first rodeo.

So you already played your best hand.

And that’s a good thing.

Because the hand you played is the hand that every single diet program or google search will tell you to play …

The typical diet program says eat less, exercise more.

It may be dressed up differently, depending on the source.

But make no mistake about it … every diet or program you’ve tried has been some version of eat less, exercise more in order to get leaner or achieve your ultimate goal.

Again, why is that a good thing?

Because it leaves you with a very logical and practical direction to make SUSTAINABLE progress.

The reality is that the hand that everyone plays doesn’t work long term.

It’s a VERY temporary intervention that statistically falls flat in a short amount of time.

So, I’m going to make the assumption that you’d rather achieve your body composition goals and sustain them for life.

As such, you can confidently ditch the approach that you know from experience won’t work.

Which means you can stop pounding the eat less, exercise more approach and begin working smarter.

The next logical question remains … what is that approach?

Get leaner by eating more

Well if eating less hasn’t worked …

How about eating more?

I can feel you tensing up as you read those words.

But won’t I gain weight?

Well that depends … if you just arbitrarily add a bunch of calories with no consideration for what you’re trying to accomplish … maybe.

If done properly, you’ll likely get leaner or at least maintain with the ability to get leaner down the road.

How can you get leaner by eating more?

I thought you’d never ask!

Let’s break it down …

It comes down to 2 things.

First and foremost … consistency.

The number one driver of results … what you do MOST of the time for a LONG ass time.

Here’s the problem with always eating less … it makes you very inconsistent.

You may not even realize it.

This can manifest in several ways.

You may find yourself being super consistent all week … and then the weekend rolls around and all bets are off.

You may find yourself being super consistent all day … and then the evening rolls around and all bets are off.

You may THINK you’re being consistent but in reality you keep taking little bites here and there, eating off your kid’s plate, snacking subconsciously, etc.

So, while you’re trying to stay consistent with low calories … you’re actually all over the place.

And guess what eating more can accomplish?

Consistency.

The weekend indulgences aren’t as indulgent.

The nighttime snacking dissipates.

You no longer grab food off your kid’s plate.

It’s funny what happens when you’re not battling hunger and cravings 24/7.

And as a result … you get leaner.

The second reason eating more can get you leaner …

Stress.

Eating too little is a stressor.

Your body adapts to stressors.

When you are under chronic stress you are primed to gain weight because your metabolism will down regulate, you’ll have less energy and willpower, you’ll feel more unstable, and there’s a whole host of hormonal implications as well that are no fun.

Not to mention that when your body senses a constant threat (stress), it tries to preserve energy to help you get through it.

So you might be eating very low calories and not making any progress.

Which is incredibly frustrating.

Which may lead to “fuck-it” mode.

Wanna know what happens when you remove that persistent stress of eating very little?

Your body feels safe.

Your body is able to let go of unwanted body fat.

Your metabolism thanks you for it.

Knowing that eating more can lead to better consistency and less stress … why would you keep going back to eat less, exercise more?

Hopefully you won’t.

And if do … hopefully you realize it should be for a VERY short time.

Then, we integrate everything into their lifestyle so the plan fits their schedule, personal preferences, and life experiences that they want to enjoy.

All of a sudden, the process becomes more fun and they see incredible changes as a result.

It’s why our 6-month coaching program produces results like clockwork for individuals who have tried everything and feel like nothing works.

Once they join the POP Method, they quickly understand why nothing worked before and get to have the peace of mind and confidence of their forever plan and results that last a lifetime.
