How to Track Restaurant Meals

by | Sep 24, 2021

I have a super duper secret hack for logging restaurant meals and never gaining fat.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go out to eat and know exactly how to log that meal?

Knowing you can still have a life, be social, and still reach your goals?

Well, I’m going to give you the step by step method for doing exactly that.

Here’s how it works …

The best way to track restaurant meals …

Pick a really good restaurant (pro tip: search for foodie blogs to find some hidden gems).

Take a look at the menu (pro tip: also reference the cocktail menu because often the cocktail list can tell you a lot about the vibe of a restaurant).

Dress for the occasion.

Order the best looking drink on the menu.

Order the best looking dish on the menu.

Now … here comes the really important part …

Pull out your phone …

Scroll directly past MyFitnessPal …

Open your camera …

Take a pic of the beautiful presentation of your meal (pro tip: also take a pic with the people you are with).

Now log that experience in your memory.

Boom. Done.

Well, there’s a bonus step …

If you were on a date, cap off the night with some extracurricular activities.

You’ll be well fueled and feeling good so you should be able to bring your A-game.

This is the most effective hack for logging restaurant meals and not gaining fat.

Oh, you thought I was going to tell you how to meticulously track your date night experiences or dinners out with the family??

I mean, I could …

But, what good does that do?

Other (less fun) ways to track restaurant meals

Yeah sure, you can guess the calories, factor it into your weekly total, and then obsess about whether that meal was actually the number of calories you guessed.

Or, you can log something similar from a chain restaurant and try to stay on point with your macros … and then second guess your entry when the scale is up the next day.

Totally viable options.

But I like my super secret hack much better.

Why?

Because it’s way less stressful.

Enjoy it and move on.

Be present with the people you love.

Embrace the moment, the conversation, the experience.

You say you want a lifestyle approach to achieving your goals and yet you stress every time you eat something that can’t be diligently tracked and accounted for.

Is that how you want to live your life?

Are you going to look back in 5 years and remember the meal that was perfectly logged in MFP and caused you anxiety and guilt?

Or, are you going to remember the time you simply enjoyed yourself and had a great experience with the people you care most about?

There’s a very specific reason why our coaching program includes a distinct lifestyle integration phase.

None of your progress matters if it’s not sustainable.

None of your results will last if you’re not enjoying the process.

Nothing will ever be good enough if you can’t fix your relationship with food.

How long have you allowed the mental struggle to continue?

How long have you accepted the stress, anxiety, and frustration around food?

When will you decide that enough is enough?

All you have to do is look at our clients and you’ll see what true transformation is all about …

It’s not about the 20 lbs. of fat loss or the epic physical results that we create …

Because those things wouldn’t last without the freedom to go along with it.

The freedom in food choices.

The freedom in enjoying the process.

The freedom in the lifestyle approach.

The freedom of knowing that they never have to feel restricted, guilty, or controlled by food EVER again.

Are you truly ready for change?

And you say that’s exactly what you want …

But, do your actions tell the same story?

Are you seeking help and support to make that happen?

Are you investing in yourself and committing to what you say you want?

Only you can answer that question.

We’ll be over here helping our clients achieve their physical results with the freedom to solidify those results for life.

Don’t think it’ll work for you?

I guarantee it will.

Only if you commit.

Of course, you can keep struggling.

That’s a choice as well.

Just be careful …

One day you might look back and realize how much time, energy, and money you wasted because you “couldn’t afford it.”

Our clients will be over here saving time, energy, and money … and never looking back.

They aren’t lucky. They aren’t any different than you.

They simply made a choice and took action.

You have that exact same ability.

You just have to do it.
