So I Am Neurotype 1B – What Does That Mean?

Neurotype 1B’s are dopamine dominant, similar to Neurotype 1A. However, they are also have high levels of acetylcholine, which is responsible for motor learning, memory, and coordination. Making them naturally talented.

 

Neurotype 1B  Characteristics Include:

  • Like to lead by example
  • Can have explosive personalities, but are calm, cool, and collected at rest
  • Tend to be very impatient because they need mental stimulation
  • Enjoy risky activities
  • Competitive in nature, but not at the level of a Type 1A
  • Don’t seek arguments but love convincing others that they are right

How Do I Train for Neurotype 1B

Neurotype Training will allow you to:

So What Kind of Workouts Do I Do as a Type 1B Neurotype?

Neurotype 1B’s are neurologically dominant by nature. They thrive with explosive movements, skill, and speed work. They can handle high intensities like a Type 1B, but can also handle high volumes due to their levels of Acetylcholine.

Olympic Weightlifting Protocols would fit very well for this Neurotype.

How Do I Eat for Neurotype 1B?

Due to high levels of inhibitory neurotransmitters, 1Bs are resilient and can handle a good amount of stress. However, they tend to overextend themselves because of how good of multi taskers they can be. When setting up a diet, protocols can be fairly aggressive, similar to the Neurotype 1A, except they do well with a condensed feeding window. Think intermittent fasting.

With a 1B, results need to be seen quickly in order for them to stay motivated and goal oriented. Typically, a 3 on 1 off protocol works well for this type but as mentioned above, it will be within a condensed feeding window.

 The 3 on 1off model is maintaining a specific diet protocol for 3 weeks and then taking 1 week off of their specific diet protocol for a maintenance period.

Daily Protocol: 

Neurotype 1Bs have high dopamine sensitivity, which we want to continue to support. Unlike the 1A, 1Bs can handle a lot of volume, so with that a higher percentage of carbs will come as well. Daily protocol for a 1B would typically look like

  •         High levels of protein each day (40% of daily intake or above)
  •         Moderate daily carb intake (30% of daily intake)
  •         Lower fat intake (30% of daily intake)

 As Mentioned above, 1Bs do well with an intermittent fasting window such as 16/8. Which is 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating in a 24-hour span.
