Two cars run out of gas at the same time.
One driver decides to sit on the side of the road and wait for help.
The other driver decides to put the car in neutral and begins pushing the car.
Other people on the road see the driver pushing the car so one by one they pull over and start pushing with him.
The other driver that sat in the car waiting for help … is still on the side of the road waiting for help, wondering why he can’t catch a break.
People help people who help themselves.
If you’re a parent, I’m sure you can relate.
If your kid asks for help, you’re obviously going to oblige. But, I bet you ask them if they tried it themselves first.
I remember a time when I sat on the side of the road and waited for shit to happen.
Like I was owed something.
I learned pretty quickly that no one was going to save me. I had to start pushing.
Funny thing … once I started pushing my car, I found myself being coached and mentored by some incredible people.
Now is not the time to sit on the side of the road.
Let’s push your car together.
