What Does Your Best Day Ever Look Like?

by | Feb 9, 2022

That was the best ever.

How many times have you experienced the best ever?

The best meal ever.

The best vacation ever.

The best sex ever.

Yesterday I was told many times that I had just released the best podcast ever.

You can go listen to it for yourself and see if you agree.

===> listen here <===

But, that’s not the point of this message.

The best ever is actually a valuable exercise.

A mentor of mine does this with all of his students.

It’s called the best day ever.

Have you ever imagined your best day ever?

I want you to close your eyes and imagine the perfect day.

From the time you wake up in the morning …

To the time you close your eyes at night …

And everything in between.

Get crystal clear on that entire day.

What’s for breakfast?

Do you hit the gym in the morning?

Who are you with?

What are all of the details of your best day ever?

Ok, you got it?

It works even better if you actually imagine all of the details and put yourself in those moments.

The reason why this exercise is so powerful is because it helps to spot incongruence.

Are your actions in line with your goals?

When I first did this exercise it was eye opening.

Because the person that was living the best day ever was not the person I was at that moment.

Not only that, but I was actually doing things diametrically opposed to what I wanted in my best day ever.

For example, time with Mel in the evening to have dinner together and then cuddle on the couch to watch TV or a movie.

So, why was I taking work calls so late at night?

Incongruence.

It’s important to gain massive clarity on what’s truly important to you.

When you know what your macro belief is … and what you really desire …

You can remove anything that doesn’t move you closer.

Key word = closer.

We often believe it’s about “more.”

I need to do more so I can make more so I can have more time.

And then you work your face off and never have time for anything you actually want.

This happens in fitness and nutrition all the time.

I need to check more boxes so I can become more fit so I can show up better for the people I love.

And in the process you’re sacrificing yourself and the people you love get a rundown version of you.

Remember … if it’s not moving you CLOSER to what you truly desire … then it’s not worth doing.

The problem is first knowing what you actually want.

Many people think they want fat loss but never get to their core desires.

Fat loss for what? To be healthier? To live longer? To have more confidence? To be the best version of yourself for others? To be the example for your kids?

That’s a big difference than just saying fat loss.

Think about it like this …

The individual that thinks their macro belief is simply fat loss … will likely slash calories and restrict themselves and accept misery as part of the process as long as the scale is going down.

Without a true macro belief, it’s easy to do dumb shit that actually moves you further away from what you truly desire.

Now, the individual that wants fat loss because their macro belief is being an example for their kids … well, that individual would never restrict and deprive themselves to get there because they wouldn’t want their kids mimicking those habits.

See the difference?

It’s easy to spot when you’re doing something diametrically opposed to what you truly want … as long as you know what it is you want and why you want it.

Incongruence can empower you to make a change.

I want to share a real life example from one of our clients.

Here’s the text message she sent me the other day.

I want you to pay attention to what she says about the life she imagined for herself.

“Hey Mike! Can you believe it’s been 1 year since you and I had our initial consult call?! Time goes so fast! This anniversary has me thinking about the girl who booked a call with you twice … and cancelled twice!

Lol how uncomfortable I was!! But also how hopeful I was! It was my last attempt to save myself and my family from the food focused, guilt and shame ridden person I was becoming.

As our conversation went on, my gut started to nudge me … and I don’t know if you remember, I even got choked up. The life I was envisioning for myself was staring me back in the face … now it was up to me to take action.

OMG NOW I’M GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE ACTION!! So then all my “butts” started to show up … I got big buts and I cannot lie.

But, but, but the money … how could I make this work? We JUST bought a new car … our son was graduating this year (senior year is fucking expensive). What about the kitchen renovation that we talked about starting next month?! Yeah, I probably can’t do this.

But that little bit of hope I had for myself just kept nagging … HOW can you make this work? And you know what … the second I made the financial investment … I had my first breakthrough. I was now fighting for myself and what I needed to be the best version of me. I’ll never forget our conversation and how you changed my life that day by allowing me to say yes to myself … finally.”

Powerful stuff.

The life she wanted was not being lived with her current actions.

And spotting that incongruence empowered her to make a change.

It’s beautiful.

So often we get caught up in the day to day grind.

And we lose sight of what truly matters.

The sad part is that most people don’t realize it until many years have been wasted.

And the really sad part is that most people don’t think they’re most people.

But maybe use this time to reflect.

Are you closing the gap?

Are your actions moving you closer to your best day ever?

Are you becoming the person you need to become to fulfill your macro belief?

I can speak for my entire team of coaches when I say …

Being able to help our clients through that process is the greatest gift that we have the pleasure of giving.

Giving someone the tools to live the life they want to live while achieving everything they desire …

Is such a blessing.

I think our part is the easy part.

The hard part is yours.

The hard part is you having the courage to reach out and make a commitment to yourself.

You keep trying it on your own.

You keep thinking there’s a “right” time.

You keep worrying about what could go wrong.

And you prevent yourself from taking the most important first step towards unlocking everything you deserve and more.

That first step is right here.

And it’s yours for the taking.

The only difference between you …

And our clients who are seeing massive success

Is they took that first step and made that commitment.

We’re here when you’re ready.
