Have you ever felt like something was fundamentally wrong with you?
Like the combination of attributes that you have is just a complete clusterfuck that prevents you from being successful?
Maybe I’m alone on this one but I used to feel that way all the time.
I was called a perfectionist.
I was told that I was too competitive.
Many times, I was told I needed to follow the rules more and listen to authority.
I was called impatient.
I was criticized for lacking commitment because I get bored easily and would jump ship quickly.
So yeah … when I was deep in my struggles of failed diet after failed diet. Of losing weight and gaining it all back for the dozenth time …
I felt like I was fatally flawed.
Can you relate?
What did people say about you?
That you put others first too often?
That you put too much pressure on yourself?
That you lack commitment or motivation?
That you’re an over achiever?
I may not know much, but I’ve learned a few things along the way.
Even though I got my wisdom tooth pulled yesterday, there’s still some wisdom leftover.
And, one of the things I know FOR SURE is that those personality and characteristic “flaws”… are your ticket to freedom.
That’s your path to sustainable results, a lifetime of success, and feeling better than you ever have in your entire life.
Let me explain … and it’s actually quite simple.
How can your flaws be your strengths?
Those characteristics make you unique. They make you who you are.
They provide the most valuable insight into what will make you successful.
I’ll provide my own personal example …
All of the failed programs I tried, I blamed it on those personality “flaws.”
I’m too much of a perfectionist, I’m too competitive, I don’t follow the rules, I’m too impatient, I’m not committed and I don’t follow through.
But the real flaw was in the vehicle.
Imagine you got in a car with no gas. And then got criticized for not being able to get very far or reach your destination.
You aren’t committed enough … just drive dammit!
You’d probably look for a new car.
Once I realized this, all of a sudden my “flaws” became my gifts.
I used my perfectionist tendencies to learn and study relentlessly so that I could create an imperfect process that would change my life and thousands of others.
I used my competitive drive to stand up against the vast majority in the diet industry that want to see you fail so they can keep their stranglehold on you.
I BROKE the rules of only caring about a calorie deficit and actually looked at the psychology of individuals to create success.
I challenged authority when I saw wrongdoing on an epic scale in previous programs I tried or worked for.
I used my impatience to not sit back and let more people struggle. I operated with absolute urgency to provide the most successful coaching program in the space.
And, I leaned in to my need for variety by using that as an asset to be more well-rounded in every area of my life.
You see … the same traits you may feel like are your downfall, are actually your assets.
They provide the greatest tools for your success.
The problem is that you’ve been jumping in a car with no gas.
You’ve been signing up for an online dating account that only allows you to put your age, weight, height, sex, and activity in your dating profile.
How the F are you supposed to find the right match with such limited information?
Your personality is THE most important part of the process.
Think about how many times you’ve jumped into a program that gave the same protocol to every single person.
Everyone must do high carb!
Everyone must do keto!
Everyone must fast!
How about … everyone must date blondes!
Everyone must listen to rap!
Everyone must be right handed!
Why is it that we can recognize the ridiculousness of the bottom 3 but not the top?
They are equally insane.
The moment that forever changed my life was learning that my perceived personality flaws were actually my greatest strengths.
It’s time for you to learn that same lesson because it will make your journey exponentially more fulfilling and productive.
Clearly, we believe very heavily in this concept because step 1 of our coaching program is a personality assessment.
Turn your flaws into gifts …
We use that and your diet history to understand the most effective plan for you to achieve your goals.
We make specific food recommendations and provide macro ratios based on your personality type, lifestyle, and goals.
Then, we go through our metabolic priming phase to ensure you’re eating enough calories to successfully and sustainably lose fat. Most people think that eating low calories is the way to go, but it actually puts your body under stress where it holds on to fat more stubbornly.
We also want to make sure your nutrition suits your training style so you can perform better and recover more efficiently. This leads to strength gains, maintaining or building muscle, and looking better naked.
Then, we incorporate the life experiences that are meaningful to you into the process. I got a message yesterday from a potential client (who is now a new client) and she said that other programs made her cook separate dinners from her family and that really upset her.
She was so excited to hear that she could eat the same dinners as her family but even more excited that she could have some wine each week.
This part of the process is all about sustainability, having fun, and making it a true lifestyle approach.
… And get lasting results
Lastly, we monitor the daily stressors in your life as well as routines and habits so we know exactly what’s working and what needs to be adjusted. We also help you tweak or upgrade your habits so that you have a strong foundation for success for the rest of your life.
We do all of this in the POP Method: our signature, 6-month, 1:1 coaching program that helps our clients lose an average of 20-30 lbs. sustainably and completely repair their relationship with food.
If you’re interested in seeing if the program is a good fit for you, shoot me a PM on FB.
We’ll have a quick chat and if we both agree it’s a fit, then we can get started right away!
