Stop placing yourself in purgatory!
Macro purgatory, that is.
If purgatory is the place that sinners go to cleanse their souls before climbing to heaven … then macro purgatory is the place to cleanse your nutritional mindset before climbing to dietary freedom.
Bit of a stretch here but stay with me.
You don’t need to be punished for what you ate. PERIOD. Allow that line to sink in because it applies 10000% of the time.
This idea that an indulgence needs to be followed by deprivation is the very definition of placing yourself in macro purgatory.
Guess where that lands you?
On the fast track to 1200 calories per day and feeling STUCK.
Not a fun place to be.
By the way, if you’re eating 1200 calories and not losing weight … Coach April and I just did a free training on how to fix this.
You can watch the recording here.
We explained the process for escaping macro purgatory.
And the importance of periodization.
Because you may be placing yourself in purgatory without even knowing it.
The vicious weight loss cycle
Tell me if this scenario sounds familiar …
You have a weight loss goal.
You begin to monitor and maybe even track what you’re eating.
You reduce calories and increase activity.
Weight starts to drop.
You’re excited!
Then weight loss stalls.
You’re frustrated.
You drop calories even more and maybe even increase activity again.
Weight starts to drop.
Yay!
Then it stalls again.
You drop calories even more.
A little more weight loss happens but quickly stalls.
At this point you’re hungry, fatigued, and miserable.
The thought of less calories sounds awful.
You’re eating 1000-1200 calories per day and not losing weight.
You snap.
Fuck this shit! It’s not worth it.
You eat everything.
Gain the weight back.
Feel bad about yourself.
Cut calories again and vow to be better this time.
PLEASE STOP!!!
This path will never lead to sustainable weight loss.
There is very clear data and research along with YEARS of anecdotal evidence to solidify this fact.
It won’t last.
The key to sustainability is personalization
Personalize. Periodize. Pursue your potential.
You have no dietary sins to repent for because dietary sins don’t exist.
Stop placing yourself in macro purgatory.
If you find yourself in that place … watch this training to learn how to get out.
