My Experience As a Mom

by | Oct 7, 2022

I have a confession to make …

I underestimated you.

I underestimated everything you do.

I said I understood but I couldn’t possibly understand.

Not until I experienced it myself.

I owe you an apology.

You see, on Tuesday morning, Mel had surgery and has been recovering since then (which she’s handling like a champ btw).

Which means that I’ve had to step up and hold it down for her.

Now I know why moms often have trouble prioritizing their fitness and nutrition.

I’ve had to make sure the house is in order. I’ve had to run all the errands. I’ve had to take the kids to school. I’ve had to do play date drop offs and pick ups. I’ve had to do hair appointment drop offs. I’ve had to make dinner for everyone.

All the while I’m trying to show up as best I can for my business and the people my business supports.

All the while I’m trying to somehow keep my fitness and nutrition in check.

I know you understand.

I said to Mel yesterday … do you constantly feel like you’re low key failing at everything all the time?? Because that’s how I feel right now.

She said, yup … all the time.

Keep in mind … it’s been TWO FUCKIN DAYS!

You’ve been doing this a whole lot longer.

Yesterday I felt like I didn’t have a single moment to come up for air.

And I almost bailed on the gym.

I was about to say that I didn’t have time to go.

Fortunately, I caught myself and I ended up getting in a 25 minute workout.

Ideal? Nope. Done? You bet your ass.

But man, I felt like a giant failure at everything yesterday.

I felt like a failure at keeping the house in order because there’s always more shit to do.

I felt like a failure at taking care of Mel because she’s in pain and I wasn’t available at all times.

I felt like a failure with the kids because my work schedule means I can’t be on call at all hours.

I felt like a failure with my nutrition because running all over the place meant choosing convenience over quality.

I felt like a failure with my training because my workout got cut from 60 mins to 25 mins.

I’m sure you know the feeling.

I said to Mel, I appreciate the shit out of you so much right now. I don’t know how you do everything that you do and still attack life with so much zest.

Like … I’m tired lol.

So I want you to know that I see you.

I get it.

I understand the struggle.

I understand the feeling that you’re failing at everything.

I also understand the perspective that you must have when it comes to your fitness and nutrition.

You are barely holding it all together so tackling a monster like that feels overwhelming.

It feels impossible.

But I also know that it haunts you.

I also know you have that voice in the back of your head that is DYING to solve this problem.

You don’t want to feel the way you feel.

You want to look a certain way and it pisses you off that you haven’t gotten there yet.

But every single day you have to put on a face, buckle up, and power through.

How long can you keep that going though?

How long can you ignore that voice that keeps whispering to you that you’re capable of more?

How often do you dream about what it would be like to not be carrying around this weight anymore?

I’m not just talking about the weight around your belly.

I’m talking about the weight of remaining stuck. The weight of not feeling the way you want to feel.

It’s draining.

After a short dose of frustration and disappointment in my own fitness and nutrition … I hired a new coach yesterday.

You see, I talk a lot (I know … the most shocking statement ever lol).

I talk about attacking your problems with urgency. I talk about how delaying action only makes things worse for the future version of you. I talk about how action is the necessary ingredient to getting what you want out of life.

Who would I be if I said all of those things but didn’t LIVE those things?

A total fraud.

I don’t intend to be a fraud.

So the minute I started to feel like crap about myself and the direction my results were headed … I made a change.

I invested in myself.

This whole experience has made me realize that you need this.

It’s not a WANT. It’s a NEED.

When do YOU get to come first?

When do YOU get to take care of yourself instead of putting everyone else ahead of you?

When do YOU get to pursue something that is so deeply important to you?

When do YOU get to offload some of the mental energy and stress that your lack of physical results is causing you?

You keep plowing forward on your own because that’s what you’ve always done and that’s what you think you need to do.

But that voice is not going away. In fact, it’s only going to get louder.

With everything you’ve got on your plate right now, there is zero doubt in my mind that you are STRONG AF.

And one of the greatest signs of strength is the ability to ask for and seek help when you need it.

It’s time to invest in yourself.

You don’t have to do this alone.

You don’t have to just suck it up and figure it out.

You can achieve every single thing that you desire.

You are capable of more.

Investing in yourself means you don’t have to stress about what to do or how to do it.

Investing in yourself means you get to outsource the mental energy and frustration this is causing you.

Investing in yourself means you get to focus on the things that truly matter while knowing the exact path to achieving your fitness and nutrition goals.

Investing in yourself means you get to show up better for the people you care about the most.

You deserve to feel better. You deserve to have more energy. You deserve to have the confidence of living in the body you desire.

You can decide right in this moment that you will not spend another second being frustrated with your lack of progress or lack of direction.

You can decide right in this moment that now is the time to draw the line in the sand.

You can decide right in this moment that you are going to finally get this giant weight off your shoulders.

You want to know how?

It’s simple. By getting the help you need.

Trust your gut. Listen to that voice in the back of your head.

You can do this.

You absolutely deserve this.

I cannot make it any easier for you.

We literally do this every single day and we are damn good at it.

But YOU have to take the first step.

Before you do, I want to give you a reminder of exactly how this process works.

How 1:1 nutrition coaching can help with your fitness and nutrition goals

First, we implement a plan based on your Neurotype so that you can stay more consistent, feel more like yourself, and actually enjoy the process. It’s amazing what happens when you work with your nature vs. fighting against it.

Then, we make sure to prime your metabolism so that your body feels safe in letting go of unwanted body fat. This is often the most overlooked and important piece of the puzzle. And generally why so many other programs fail. You MUST take care of your metabolism if you want your body to respond.

Lastly, we integrate everything into your lifestyle so you can continue to manage everything in your life … but with a major difference. Rather than just coasting and surviving … we make sure that you can thrive. More energy, more confidence, and a better grip on how to navigate the things you love like date nights, family dinners, social events, vacations, etc.

We do all of this in our 6 month, 1 on 1 coaching program. This program has produced an average of 20-30 lbs. of fat loss for our clients while giving them total confidence in maintaining those results forever and dramatically improving their relationship with food.

Keep in mind, that is simply the average. We’ve had clients lose over 100 lbs. and we’ve had clients go from already lean to leaner. The process works because it’s purely based on YOU.
