How are you??
No, seriously, how are you?
Are you operating with grace and compassion, or putting added pressure on yourself during this challenging time?
I ask this question because over the weekend, I had several conversations with people who seem to think that they should be perfect with their nutrition right now.
Between the 4 people that reached out to me, each one of them said some version of … “I just can’t seem to get my shit together.”
My response … yeah, me neither.
Yesterday, I had 3 slices of pizza, 2 cupcakes, and a quesadilla … for dinner.
Success with nutrition IS possible
Want to know the secret to success? It’s not about what happens in those moments … it’s about what happens AFTER those moments.
Are you operating with grace and compassion? If not, you likely beat yourself up for making “bad” decisions. Then spiral into a pool of self doubt. Then, continue to make decisions that don’t align with your values, which creates more cognitive dissonance.
Ultimately, you land in a place of immense frustration and feeling like a failure.
Sound familiar? Yup, that was my reality for way too long.
I had a memorable “aha” moment watching someone very fit eat an impressive amount of food while having some drinks.
My initial thought was … they’re so effing lucky … they can eat and drink whatever and stay that lean.
Then, I witnessed what happened the next day. The previous night wasn’t even a blip on their radar. They didn’t dwell on it, didn’t allow it to impact a single decision … just back to business as usual. ?
It made me realize that successful people aren’t perfect or anywhere close to it. They just don’t allow one decision to impact the next. They are very good at just getting back to their normal routine.
I was so bad at that. I would beat myself up, feel like a failure with no success, and make 10 more terrible decisions before deciding that enough was enough.
I knew I had to learn how to disrupt that pattern.
So I did.
And, this is one of the major tools that I teach in JUST EAT Academy.
The course starts a week from today!
Enrollment is open until Friday.
