The Choice That Changes Everything

by | May 20, 2022

The power of CHOICE.

This may be the most important message I’ve ever written.

Often times, you’ll see me insert a cheeky conclusion when I communicate something.

For example, I’ve been known to outline the exact process that we use with our clients to produce life-changing transformations on demand.

And then I’ll say something like …

You can have that exact same thing if you want it for yourself …

Or, you can keep guessing and remain stuck and frustrated …

Your choice.

It’s a subtle (or not so subtle) attempt at opening your eyes.

When I say “your,” I simply mean one individual.

If one single individual reflects on that statement and thinks … shit … I am choosing my current situation which is not where I want to be over the solution to my problem.

Then it’s worth it to me to come across like an asshole.

If you’re not changing it, you’re choosing it.

So the frustration, lack of results, and pain that you’re in are a reflection of the things you’re not doing.

It may not feel like a choice, but it is.

You may be avoiding getting the help that you need. You may be avoiding making a real change. You may be avoiding commitment. You may be avoiding discomfort.

Here’s where things get interesting …

You may feel like your current situation isn’t a choice at all. You may feel like you were dealt a bad hand and this is just your fate. You may feel like a prisoner to your current misery.

And without accepting it as a CHOICE …

You are actually making it worse.

Ready to be mind blown?

The power of the freedom of choice

There was a study done on two rats.

Rat A was placed on a wheel and was given the freedom to run on the wheel whenever he/she wanted to.

Rat B was also placed on a wheel but that wheel was connected to Rat A’s wheel. So whenever Rat A decided to run, Rat B had to run too.

One rat had the freedom of choice. The other did not.

Now, both rats did the exact same amount of running. Same duration and same intensity.

At the end of the study, Rat A showed all of the positive markers from the benefits of exercise.

Rat B showed all of the negative markers from the detriments of stress.

Did the lightbulb moment happen yet?

The only difference was the freedom of choice.

As an aside … try to convince me that all results don’t start in your brain. Anyway, I digress.

Consider how this applies to what I mentioned above.

If you believe that you are trapped in your current situation and running on someone else’s wheel …

It will add stress to your life and have a negative impact on your overall health and well-being.

If you take ownership and understand that you always have a choice … you will unlock the results you’ve been waiting for.

There are so many applications to this concept.

Going to the gym, for example.

Are you choosing to go? Or are you “forced” to go?

One will provide amazing health benefits. The other will be a stressor.

Think about your nutrition.

Are you choosing how to eat, what to eat, etc? Or are you forcing yourself to eat a certain way?

I used to work for a company that would force their nutritional approach on every single client.

No one had the freedom of choice.

Oh, you feel better on low or moderate carbs?

Too damn bad … force yourself to eat high carb.

And yet, they wonder why no one gets results with them.

It’s not a mystery.

Once they decided to remove the freedom of choice …

Their approach turned into one giant stressor.

On the flip side, the reason our clients see incredible progress after feeling like nothing has ever worked for them is because we find the solution that works best for each individual.

If that sounds simple … it is.

You know yourself better than anyone else.

Once we understand your personality, values, and goals … we can easily come up with a plan that allows you to feel your best and thrive in all areas of your life.

We make sure that it’s a choice you want to make.

It literally works every damn time.

Which Direction You Go Is Your Choice

So … if you’re not where you want to be and you’re avoiding doing what needs to be done …

Take ownership.

If you accept it as a choice …

You also open yourself up to making a choice in the other direction.

This applies to your fitness and nutrition, career, relationships, and everything in your life.

There will be plenty of shit that happens that is not your fault.

But it will always be your responsibility and your choice in terms of how you respond.

The power of choice is something we all have access to …

And yet, many people choose to avoid it.

Funny how that works.

If you are unhappy with where you’re at right now with your fitness and nutrition …

It may be time to choose differently.

Or don’t.

That’s also your choice ;).
