The One Mindset Roadblock That’s Holding You Back

by | Jun 15, 2022

This is the single biggest mindset roadblock that’s holding you back …

I’ve been doing this for over a decade and specifically coaching nutrition for 7 years.

At this point, I’ve helped facilitate thousands of mental and physical transformations.

My reputation has developed as somewhat of a mindset expert.

I’m not sure I’d go that far … but I’ve certainly seen some shit and know a thing or two about creating sustainable results and needing to overcome some mindset roadblocks to get there.

So, I can confidently state that what I’m about to share has been one of the most common mindset roadblocks that I’ve seen over the years.

And it’s very prevalent today (probably even more prevalent due to the nature of how marketing has evolved in the fitness and nutrition space).

Have you ever felt like something is missing?

Like, it has to be, right?

You’ve been working your ass off for years and have very little to show for it.

You know what to do. You know what you’re supposed to be doing. And yet, the results just aren’t there.

There HAS to be something missing.

Could it be related to your hormones? Could it be related to gut health? Could it be related to meal timing? Or specific foods you’re consuming?

Would fasting make a difference? Or doing more cardio?

Would removing carbs move the needle? Or maybe you should have a full panel of bloodwork done to see what’s missing?

There has to be some secret sauce that is preventing you from seeing the progress you desire.

And therein lies the mindset roadblock that I’m referring to …

Always thinking that something is missing.

It’s way too common.

And it makes you susceptible to what I like to call majoring in the minors. Or stepping over dollars to pick up pennies.

Are you REALLY missing something in your fitness and nutrition program?

It goes a little something like this …

You start to focus a little more on your nutrition and training.

You’re eating better, getting to the gym consistently.

But, things aren’t progressing as quickly as you’d like.

At first, it may not seem like a big deal … but you really want results like yesterday and the scale is being a little bitch.

Eventually, it gets to you.

WTF … why am I doing all of this with nothing to show for it?! What am I missing?

Then, you’re scrolling Instagram and you see something that catches your eye …

It’s Dr. Dumfuk and he’s back with another reel.

The headline immediately hooks you in …  “the reason you’re not losing weight is because your body is not in fat burning mode.”

Then he goes on to tell you about how doing fasted cardio in the morning and skipping breakfast will put your body in fat burning mode.

AHA! You think to yourself. That’s it! I knew I was missing something.

I can’t believe I wasn’t in fat burning mode! How stupid am I?!

So you start to focus on your fasted cardio and avoiding breakfast and guess what …

Nothing changes.

Wait … what?! How can this be??

Dr. Dumfuk told me this was my problem.

Grrrrr … so you go back to square 1 … what could I possibly be missing??

I know I’m missing something.

Back to Instagram you go and another reel pops up … this time it’s from Dr. Dikfayce.

He goes on to tell you that you’re not losing fat because of your gut microbiome.

And, lucky you, he has a special going on right now for his gut healing protocol.

Ahhh, of course! It wasn’t the lack of being in fat burning mode … it’s my gut microbiome!

Except, the only thing that changes is Dr. Dikfayce’s bank account and you’re still left trying to pick up the pieces.

What the hell is missing?!!

The answer: nothing.

Literally nothing is missing.

The mindset roadblock that you have to overcome is the one where you always think you must be missing something.

Some crazy advanced strategy that MUST be the missing link.

Nope. It’s not.

What’s really missing is consistency. Sustainability. And patience.

That’s it.

If you’re eating quality foods, lifting weights on occasion, moving your body often, drinking water, managing stress, and prioritizing sleep …

You’re golden.

Want to know how to “balance” your hormones? See what I just mentioned above.

Want to know how to “heal your gut?” See what I just mentioned above.

It will always and forever come back to the basics.

Are there outliers and unique situations that require advanced protocols? Of course!

But 99.9% of the time … it’s simple execution of the basics for a really long time.

There’s no secret sauce. Nothing is missing.

The secret to achieving your goals is doing the basics consistently, sustainably, and patiently.

The end.

The entire reason that we begin our process with our Neurotyping principles is to increase consistency, sustainability, and enjoyment.

If the process matches your personality, you’ll enjoy it more, you’ll be more consistent, and you’ll do it longer to see the results you desire.

Simple.
