Are You Trapped by the White Knuckle Diet?

by | Jan 22, 2021

Want to know the diet that I have tried more than any other diet out there?

In fact, it was my go-to diet when I was feeling thick and lacking confidence.

It was my old reliable, waiting for me to come running back with open arms.

The name of that diet …

The White Knuckle Diet

Ok, that’s a name I literally just came up with today but it’s the perfect description.

My first experience with The White Knuckle Diet (TWKD) was when I was over 250 lbs and wanted to lose weight as fast as possible.

I began with a meal plan that probably amounted to 1200-1400 calories per day.

The diet principles were simple … all the hunger, all the cravings, all the fatigue, all the misery … white knuckle your way through it!

It worked like a charm. I got down below 200 lbs.

And then I cracked.

Back to square 1.

It’s ok … I’ll do better next time.

I decided to switch things up and do a second version of The White Knuckle Diet.

Once again, it was a great success!

Got below 200 lbs yet again.

And then I cracked.

Back to square 1.

WTF is wrong with me?

I really need more discipline.

What if I bought already made meals and literally had nothing else in the house …

There would be no temptation!

Round 3 … here we go …

Got below 200 lbs again!

And then I cracked.

Back to square 1.

This timeline and pattern keeps going for about 7-ish years so I’ll stop here.

Every time I failed, I went back to TWKD.

And, every single time … I eventually cracked and gained the weight back.

The tricky thing about TWKD is that she wears many disguises.

Each new dieting attempt, I THOUGHT I was doing something different.

I wasn’t.

It was simply that same bitch dressed as something else.

She was always so welcoming and comforting.

So manipulating that I thought I was the problem and that she could do no wrong.

Breaking up with her for good was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done.

Even though she wasn’t right for me … I almost felt lost without her.

Eventually, I knew that if I wanted to be happy and successful and have any semblance of peace of mind …

I needed to move on.

And it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

But, she’s still a big part of my life.

She’s out there in all her glory … still luring people in, left and right.

Like she’s taunting me.

I see all of her disguises and I know all of her tricks.

But, she won’t go away that easily.

In order for that to happen, we ALL need to break up with her for good.

Learn dietary freedom instead!

Her kryptonite is sustainability.

Once someone understands that sustainability, food freedom, and long term success are important …

She’s done.

But, there is a lot we can learn from her.

She can teach us about what we truly need by showing us what we truly don’t.

She can help us find our path by showing us where not to go.

She can force us to step outside of our comfort zone by thinking differently.

And, if you need help breaking up with her …

That happens to be my specialty.
