Before You Get Back On Plan, Do This …

by | Jun 30, 2021

Everyone has that one moment.

You know … the moment where you get slapped in the face with reality.

The moment where you realize that you’ve been completely slacking off and it’s time to get your shit together.

Anything can cause that moment.

For me, I’ve had that moment more times than I can count.

It often happens after you’ve been peacefully operating in denial for quite some time and then you wake up.

I remember my journey from 250+ lbs. to below 200.

I was so ecstatic that I started to celebrate my accomplishment.

Ya know, the kind of celebration that lasts several months instead of several hours.

I knew what was happening but I figured if I just ignored it, then it wasn’t real.

Until one morning I woke up and stepped on the scale …

Fuck.

“Time to get back on the plan!”

That’s always the line we feed ourselves after experiencing the moment.

One summer I got really lean and I was bartending at this pool bar, feeling really confident.

I decided to let loose because a little freedom seemed much needed at the time.

In the middle of the summer, I had a trip planned with some friends.

When it came time to take my shirt off, I was completely taken back by just how far I back tracked.

Fuck.

“Time to get back on the plan!”

I’m sure you’ve had similar moments.

When you realize that you’ve let this go on too long and it’s finally time to do something about it.

What exactly does “back on plan” mean?

Here’s the problem that no one ever bothered to tell you and it’s the single most important concept to understand.

When you think to yourself … “time to get back on the plan …”

You’re likely entering back into the same cycle that you just escaped.

Here’s how I know …

I can almost guarantee that before you “got back on plan” you likely ate a bunch of shit food and maybe even drank your face off too.

Essentially, you knew that you were about to eliminate all the fun from your life for the sake of getting “back on plan” so you decided to get it in while you still could.

I call that last chance syndrome.

As in … this is my last chance to eat these foods so I better eat ALL of these foods.

Am I right?

If so, the problem wasn’t that you slacked off, let yourself go, or lacked willpower.

The problem is that your plan sucks.

What if it’s your plan that’s actually the problem?

The problem is that “getting back on plan” means restriction, obsessive calorie counting, and more stress around food.

You didn’t fall off the wagon … you got burnt the fuck out.

Think back on each time you had that moment.

The plan you got back on … was it restrictive? Did you have to eliminate a bunch of things you enjoy? Did it allow you to still live your life and be fully present without stressing about food all the time?

Probably not.

You always thought the problem was you.

The problem was always the shitty plan.

You don’t need more willpower.

You need a new plan.

Want to know what happens when our clients over indulge?

They learn and move on quickly.

Why? Because their plans give them the freedom to do so.

They don’t have last chance syndrome because there is no last chance.

Everything is available to them at all times.

They don’t feel restricted. They don’t feel deprived.

So it’s very easy to move forward.

That doesn’t mean it’s perfect.

But it’s damn effective.

If you’re constantly starting and stopping …

Feeling the need to “get back on plan”…

Then you’ve got a long road ahead.

Here’s what a new plan looks like …

Once you stop following plans that don’t align with who you are as a person and plans that don’t cater to your lifestyle …

You’ll see a world of difference both physically and mentally.

Our clients are often shocked at how they can eat more freely, remove the stress around food, and achieve their physical goals at the same time.

It almost seems counter intuitive but we’ve successfully done this with thousands of individuals at this point so the proof is in the pudding.

Yes, we make sure to create a plan that suits their personality type.

Yes, we make sure to properly prime their metabolism to support sustainable results.

But, the real magic comes in the lifestyle integration where we remove the concept of “on or off” plan altogether.

That’s when the results happen and true freedom is created.
