Eliminate These Foods to Lose Weight …

by | Apr 1, 2021

Here’s a list of the foods you need to eliminate to lose fat

Ok, so if you’ve been following me for any length of time, you likely didn’t fall for that trick.

But, what originally came to mind?

Sugar? Carbs? Alcohol? Processed food? Cookies?

You know what’s interesting … over the past few days, I’ve received a common message.

The message has looked something like this … “Good morning, Mike. I really hope you can help me. I’ve been struggling to lose weight and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I even cut out sugar and my weight still won’t budge.”

I got a similar message about alcohol. About processed foods. About dairy.

And yet … the struggle continues.

Most people think you need to eliminate certain foods to lose weight.

But, most people struggle to lose weight and keep it off, so should we really be listening to most people?

The reality is this … in certain situations where there’s a legit allergy or food sensitivity … sure, it makes sense to cut back or eliminate certain foods.

Outside of that, it’s likely doing more harm than good.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Cutting out sugar and alcohol is likely doing more harm than good.

I’m not over here encouraging you to drink a bottle of wine every night … but if you enjoy alcohol, you should incorporate it into your plan.

The elimination method doesn’t work. It doesn’t work practically or psychologically.

Because when you tell yourself you CAN’T have something … all you want is that thing.

And, when you finally get that thing … you want ALLLL of that thing.

Talk about draining your willpower for no reason.

Here’s a common scenario to paint the picture …

Jenny wants to lose weight.

Jenny heard a “doctor” on a podcast talking about sugar being the devil.

Jenny thought that Dr. Dumfuk sounded smart when he said that sugar spikes insulin and insulin makes us fat.

Jenny decided to cut out sugar so she could finally drop those last 20 lbs. that just won’t seem to budge.

Jenny has kids. Jenny’s kids love sugar.

Jenny has to give them sugary snacks every day.

Jenny goes to work. Jenny’s co-workers often bring cookies and donuts into the office.

Jenny only thinks about sugar.

Jenny is proud of herself.

Jenny hasn’t had sugar in 7 days.

Jenny had a rough day at work.

Jenny’s kids have been a pain in her ass.

Jenny steps on the scale and her weight is exactly the same.

Jenny is pissed.

Jenny’s kids want a snack.

Jenny gives them a snack and reaches for a cookie.

Jenny feels sweet relief.

Jenny grabs another cookie.

Jenny knows that she isn’t allowed to eat cookies.

Jenny negotiates with herself.

Jenny decides to eat all the cookies today but tomorrow she’ll swear off cookies forever.

Jenny gains weight.

Jenny repeats this cycle many times before contacting Mike, joining POP, and losing those last 20 lbs. while eating cookies when she wants them and completely transforming her relationship with food.

Here’s the thing about Jenny …

She was constantly consumed by her thoughts around food.

Not a minute went by where she wasn’t thinking about what she ate, what she was going to eat, and what time she was going to eat it.

That causes STRESS.

Eliminate certain foods and you get STRESSED!

Stress on top of the stress that already existed in her life as a result of being a working mom.

Removing the stress around food and all the “can’t-haves” made her body respond infinitely better.

Why do we incorporate things like alcohol, restaurant meals, date nights, social events, etc. into the plans we put together for our clients?

For that exact reason.

Less stress + more enjoyment – food obsession = epic results

You know what else helps reduce stress and food obsession?

Eating enough calories to support your metabolism so your body doesn’t go into energy preservation mode.

What I call: Metabolic Priming.

It also helps to know what foods and macro ratios will work best for you based on your personality type and brain chemistry.

Then, we can assess exactly what’s working by monitoring your biofeedback and making sure we’re managing stress and building strong habits that support long term results.

There’s a reason why Jenny transformed her body and her relationship with food in just 9 weeks of the POP Method.

It’s because it works.

It’s a 6 month, 1:1 coaching program that produces sustainable results to the tune of 20-30 lbs. down, a leaner physique, an improved relationship with food, and never needing another program again.

It’s perfect for individuals who feel like nothing has ever worked or currently feel stuck and want to finally find their forever plan.

If that sounds like you, shoot me a message on Facebook.

We’ll have a quick chat to see if it’s a good fit and if we decide that it is, we can get started right away.
